"What are you talking about?" Roland couldn't remember when he'd ever asked Aneirin to compromise his boundaries but this argument had gotten out of hand long ago. They brought up ancient history and it seemed more like they were just trying to hurt each other now than work anything out. "But you did choose your obligations over me! You went off to battle even when I begged you to stay!" Did Aneirin still not understand what that had done to him, what that had felt like? Still, he hated the wet sheen on Aneirin's eyes and wanted to help drive it away not bring it out more. That was clearly a lost cause, at least for the moment.

"How could you think that? That's not what I want!" But it was a fair question. What did he want from Aneirin? What was it even fair to want now that he knew Aneirin's love for him was still there? Not that his attempts at what he saw as kindness or fairness had gone over well, they'd really just blown up in his face and caused more problems. Still, he was shaking his head as the accusations kept coming even as he felt more desperate by the second given how this had all careened so hopelessly out of control. "No, you misunderstand me. Of course I respect you, how could I not? I'm not trying to bend you to anything I was trying to be kind!" What was the point in saying that now? He hated how desperate his tone was, hated that he knew Aneirin was about to leave him again. "Rin'..." Roland walked to the door, should've stormed after him but he let it close instead, feeling pained and bereft as he watched it happen. He refused to say goodbye, not again. He would have to figure out some way to fix this even though it seemed impossible now. Cursing, he slammed his fist against the door and swallowed hard, leaning there and wondering how it had all gone so wrong when it had started so well. It was a disaster, really, and it was his fault. Somehow, some way, he'd make it better. He had to.

"Boundaries? You speak to me of boundaries when you would have me cross every last one of mine? To grovel on my knees in apology because I uphold my obligations? If you believe for a moment I chose something above you then it's because you made my choice for me. It was you that decided there could be room in my heart for one thing and one thing alone." Aneirin's eyes were shiny and wet again. Perhaps it was all too explosive, but Aneirin's emotions had done nothing for centuries but stockpile barrels of gunpowder and wait for someone to come through with a lit match. Roland had struck up, whether he'd intended to or not. Aneirin fumbled with his belt in his haste, fingers clumsy and struggling on the buckle.

"All this from the man jealous of the very concept of Wales. You demand I throw away all obligation, even my remotest of my affections you are petty and jealous of, and then cannot give me even the crumbs at the table in return. What is you want from me Roland? An obedient little slut for when your love leaves your bed cold? Get a fucking slave like everyone else." Finally, he managed to beat his belt into submission, followed swiftly by his shoes as he firmly tied the laces.

He brushed the hair that had tumbled out of its neat style off his forehead. His expression was sharp, pointed, despite the sadness in his eyes. "It's you that insists on hierarchy, and a hierarchy that would see me beneath even the basest level of respect from you. Even know, you see fit to tell me how I ought to feel, like my love is some finite spoil of conquest." Aneirin reached for the door. He paused a moment. "You don't understand me. And what's more you don't want to understand me, you just want to bend me to your ever changing will." Then he was moving into the corridor, heading back towards his suite. "Goodnight, Roland." He closed the door behind him.

i have a theory that a lot of people say acting is "good" when they're emotionally moved by it, and a lot of cishet white people have a lifelong habit of not listening or empathising when minoritised people speak, so minority actors get called "bad" even when they display some pretty fucking amazing technical skill

With Tango I wanted to play with half body/split coloring and make him look scorched, including his horn which will just smoke while he's not using magic. I'd like to think he's absolutely fine and all that's changed is that he can only conjure fire magic but he doesn't care that much. His tail and mane can burst into flame whenever

BigB is a big guy with a thousand yard stare and prey animal behavior with his ears constantly tucked back. I really like the idea of him having a huge tail dragging behind him, adds to the unnerve a tiny bit. When people look away he turns into a hyperrealistic creaking horse

Why did I make Jimmy all yellow. His color is blue!!! Blue!!!! Even if I usually highlight him with yellow because it just looks nicer but!! Blue..!! Seeing Lizzie build a blue parrot for him inspired me to finally redesign him, his coloration is based on the blue quaker parrot! The canary theme can still work with this, I'd like to imagine his flight feathers started going yellow and he wasn't just born with canary feathers. Also tried to get across that he's a lanky ass pony but makes himself look smaller

Joel I think works so much better when he's relatively monotone and the green highlights are implemented sparingly (you know, as highlights). I think it makes him look more special even with normal horse colors than if he was mostly green, kinda loses that bit of the design that really identifies Joel AS Joel. Yeah my first Joel design was garbo. Also he's very angry that god made him an earth pony and tiny. sorry little guy

The insult only deepened his scowl and he cursed after him in French then stormed away.
